Program Offerings
MORNING GARDEN
Two or three day programs, 8:30 am-12:00 pm. The Burlington Morning Garden offers a three day Monday through Wednesday program and a two day Thursday and Friday program. There are other Morning Garden programs offered in this community and their individual teachers administrate them. Please call the school for further information. These programs are held in the teachers' homes and serve children between the ages of three and four. The child must be three by September 1 of the school year.
PRESCHOOL/ KINDERGARTEN
Five days a week, 8:30 am - 12:00 pm. There are four kindergarten classes, three with 10 children and one teacher, and the other with 20 students and two teachers. The children's ages range from three years six months - six years. The child must be three years six month by September 1 of the school year.
KINDERGARTEN AFTERSCHOOL
Five days a week, 12:00 - 2:45 pm.
This session is a time for kindergarten children to have lunch, rest, and a quiet playtime.
FIRST GRADE
Five days a week, 8:15 am - 2:45 pm. The child must be six by June 1 of the school year. First grade is seen as a transition year between kindergarten and the grade school. To ease the transition, the afternoons are less structured. You are encouraged to take your child home early two or three afternoons a week.
GRADES 2 through 8
Five days a week, 8:15 am - 2:45 pm. The child is evaluated for class placement by the school, depending on age, grades completed and the academic, developmental and social progress of the child.
HIGH SCHOOL
Five days a week, 8:15 am - 3:05 pm. The high school program began in the fall of 2001 with a ninth grade class. We offer a full high school program, ninth through twelfth grade.
MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL SKI PROGRAM
All fifth through twelfth grade students participate in a five or six week ski program. There is an extra fee for this program.
HIGH SCHOOL COMPETITIVE SPORTS PROGRAM
The high school has several team sport programs, competing with other area independent schools. The sports include cross country running, basketball, softball and tennis. The seventh and eighth grade students are included in some of these sports programs. Schedules are available at the high school.
