Location
Shelburne and Charlotte are located south of Burlington
in the Champlain Valley. Vermont remains largely rural
and natural beauty abounds. The nearby Lake and Green
Mountains offer year-round recreational opportunities
and Burlington offers a cultural and academic life unusually
rich for a small university city. Burlington has been
cited as a liveable and safe area for bringing up children
as well as a great city for the arts.
The Shelburne campus includes two purpose-built buildings,
one for kindergarten and one for first through eight grades
on twenty-two acres. Surrounded by protected Nature Conservancy
woodland and near the LaPlatte River, the grounds include
numerous gardens and a large playing field.
The Charlotte campus, which is surrounded by farmland
and is a short drive from Shelburne, includes a high school
building and more than five acres of playing fields and
gardens.
