LCWS seeks trained, experienced, enthusiastic candidates. The base salary for all full-time positions will be $32,421, plus an additional increment for each year of experience in a Waldorf school. Benefits include health insurance and tuition remission.
The Lake Champlain Waldorf School, established in 1984, is located in Shelburne and Charlotte, Vermont. LCWS serves 250 children with an Early Childhood Program, a Grade School and a High School on two large, picturesque campuses. Our 22-acre Shelburne campus features two purpose-built buildings for the preschool, kindergarten and grade school. Set within Nature Conservancy land, the grounds include woods, playgrounds, vegetable and flower gardens, chicken coops, a sheep manger and a large playing field. The high school campus is surrounded by acres of open fields and gardens.
We are a staff of 32 full-time and 12 part-time teachers and administrators who work successfully in a consensus model. Our school has been a full member of AWSNA for over a decade, and two teachers hold national leadership positions in AWSNA. We are an established, thriving school offering a full Waldorf curriculum including French, German, eurythmy, choral and instrumental music, art, handwork, practical arts and physical education. Our teachers are either Waldorf trained or currently receiving Waldorf training. The Board of Trustees and parent body are active and supportive.
Shelburne and Charlotte are located in the Champlain Valley, just 10 minutes south of Burlington. Often listed as one of the most “livable cities,” Burlington offers a rich arts and cultural community with four colleges and universities. There is an active branch of the Anthroposophical Society, and a Christian Community initiative in the area. The nearby lake and Green Mountains offer natural beauty and year-round recreation.
